A suitcase for my books

Now I am finally actually, oh god, I am so relieved to get out of here, packing, for my vacation. And since I've read a lot and since some of the books I meant to pack and mentioned in my earlier fantasy list   written for the case, time might ever actually pass and have me hop a plane to Mallorca, are read by now, this is the list of books, I am now really taking with me: Chögyam Trungpa  Shambala, The sacred path of the warrior   Taiye Selasi  Ghana must go David Wagner  Leben A.L. Kennedy  Das blaue Buch  (The Blue Book) Paula McLain  The Paris Wife Chimamanda Ngozie Adichie  Purple Hibiscus Cees Nooteboom  Allerseelen Fred Vargas  Der untröstliche Witwer von Montparnasse That does not look like much, but hey, its about 2300 pages to read and considering that I will not read more than say: average a 100 pages every day, I will not even finish them. I am only gone for two weeks, 14 days, approximately 1400 pages ...

"The list is the origin of culture"

"The list is the origin of culture" was once said or written by Umberto Ecco. So I don't feel quite as bad anymore when I think that I actually started my blog because I saw it as a perfect way to publish lists, fling them into the universe for everybody to know what I like (kids, especially the two girls I share my life with, my garden, the humming of bees in the meadow, cherries, The United States of America, Richmond/Virginia, sushi, journals, books, swimming, lakes, the ocean, movies) or things I don't like (stress, pain, people who want to convince me to do things I already know I don't like, toothache, reading glasses, fanatics, television, coca cola, fascists). I feel I inspire others like they inspire me when I read their lists. I do not just love to write down lists, I am also excited to read those of oth...

30 Movies one should see before one dies/30 Filme die man gesehen haben sollte!!

This is a list of all the movies (well almost all the movies) I have seen in my life meaning something to me. I still believe they are all among the best movies ever made! So go, get, watch and enjoy them!!! I do not give any guarantee for this list being complete. I might add the one or other movie from time to time since I am still watching a lot whenever I get a chance and also, my memory might give me back some I have forgotten right now. I am always interested in good movies, so tell me what you like to watch! Whats eating Gilbert Grape  One of the best perfomances of Leonardo di Caprio and Jonny Depp I have ever seen. Not to forget the absolutely brilliant Juliette Lewis. She was also in: Kalifornia  which is one of my favourite thrillers (and I hate thrillers ususally) but this one is wonderful. Brad Pitt as, well, psycho. Very convincing! Thelma & Louise  Talking about Brad Pitt, but even better Harvey Keitel, Susan Sarandon and Geena Davis, who was in ...
